Marion Franklin Rudy is the engineer who created Nike’s Air technology, which forever changed the footwear business. In 1978, Nike released the first shoe using Rudy’s “Air” technology, the Air Tailwind. To pay tribute to the late engineer, Nike will be releasing a special edition Air Max TW. Dressed in a Summit White, Safety Orange, Sesame, Light Photo Blue, Lemon Wash, and Black color scheme constructed with mesh, suede, and leather materials. It comes with special details such as blueprint insoles showing off the technology artwork with his signature, barometer hangtags, EST. 2022 printed on the lateral sole unit, and his name printed on the laces tips.
