Classified Nike Documents Leaked
Nike recently shared its updated release policies in a confidential document to all of its retail store connections. Shortly after, it appears to have been leaked by Complex. After further review Complex shared what they discovered on how Nike has charged their employees for dealing with heat launch products.
Nike has clarified that they have updated their policies regarding the most coveted releases. To make it fair for all.
Time of Release
Regarding the time of release, no Nike stores may sell High Heat Launch Product before 10:00 am EST/ 7:00 am PST of the launch date. Additionally, whether it is online or in the brick-and-mortar store, no products may be sold otherwise directed by Nike with prior written approval.
One Unit per Consumer
All products are limited to one unit per person. After the launch date and everyone has had the opportunity to purchase, consumers can buy additional units.
Random Drawings
The SNKRS draw, aka LEO (Let Everyone Enter) Drop, is intended to give everyone a fair chance to purchase a product, especially releases in limited quantities.
Types of Drawings
- Online drawings (SNKRS Pass): Winners online can purchase in-store.
- In-Store drawing: Winners can purchase in the store.
- Online drawing: Winners can purchase online if they are selected.
Requirements for Drawings
There should be a clearly defined time to submit entries, not less than an hour.
Complex also had more information regarding resellers and even employees who may take advantage of reselling. There is no definitive information on how employees weed out resellers; Nike prides itself in ensuring resellers do not take advantage of the market. Nike also mentioned its anti-botting policy as they are keen on blocking suspicious entries. Fraud is also an issue that Nike takes seriously, which is why customers are required to show their IDs to match their accounts.
Overall, Nike is making an attempt to make it fair for the consumer as much as possible. Based on your experience, is Nike being transparent enough on how the brand intends to ensure everyone has a reasonable chance of getting a limited hype sneaker?
