Air Jordan 1 High 85 Bred Releasing Spring 2025

Reviving the Iconic Air Jordan 1 High Bred

Jordan Brand is finally responding to the clamor of sneakerheads everywhere by bringing back the Air Jordan 1 High Bred. However, it's not exactly what they've been asking for. Since 2021, Jordan Brand has been teasing OG collectors and sneakerheads with the Air Jordan 1 High OG Bred. Fans were disappointed when Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 1 High OG Patent Bred instead. This upset many sneakerheads who were expecting the classic smooth leather of the 2016 Jordan 1 High OG Breds. Rumors and mock-ups circulated in 2022 when Jordan Brand introduced the reimagined series, starting with the Lost and Found Chicago Jordan 1s. It was hinted that the Jordan 1 High Breds would return as part of this series. However, fans were let down when Jordan Brand retroed the exclusive Jordan 1 High OG Satin Bred (W), which had only 501 pairs released during a pop-up event in NY back in 2015.

The 2025 Return of the Air Jordan 1 High 85 Bred

Jordan Brand continues to tease fans who have been eagerly awaiting a retro of the 2016 Jordan 1 High OG Bred in its original form. Instead, in 2025, they're releasing the Air Jordan 1 High 85 Bred. This time, it's not the soft, buttery leather pair from 2016 but the stiffer leather cut from 1985. In 2020, Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 1 High 85 Varsity Red, which closely resembled the Bred colorway.

The Legacy of the Bred Colorway and the release information on the Air Jordan 1 High 85 Bred

The return of the Air Jordan 1 High 85 Bred isn't necessarily a disappointment because the Bred colorway is an OG classic from 1985. The classic red and black Jordan 1 High first appeared in 1984. Each time Michael Jordan sported them during games, he faced a $5,000 penalty for flouting the league’s uniform regulations, which demanded players match their shoes with both their own uniforms and those of their teammates. Although this regulation was later relaxed in the late 2000s, it was rigorously upheld throughout the 1980s. True OG fans of the Jordan 1 High Bred should be excited that Jordan Brand is bringing back this timeless colorway in the 1985 shape. The pair is expected to release in 2025 with a retail price of around $200. For more updates on this release, you can download the SwiftSole mobile app.
